LET’S TALK MICROBLADING
MICROBLADING is here to stay and is a beauty trend that has literally taken over by storm. When you’ve tried drawing your brows with a pencil, powder, pigment, or stencil and you still aren’t happy, not to mention it’s been an eternity since your brows were on fleek. Stop and think about it. For those of you with incredibly busy and hectic lifestyles, who have no time to make their brows look perfect every day, MICROBLADING is one technique that will provide long lasting results and will look perfect for 2-3 years without having to apply brow make up every day. If this sounds familiar, then perhaps it’s time to start to research and learn as much as you can about the fine art of MICROBLADING.
Over tweezed brows, sparse brow hair, chemo treatments, alopecia and anyone who wants to change the shape, volume and/or arch of their brow, no hair, little hair and some hair, MICROBLADING is a semi-permanent solution for all of your brow needs. Throughout this post I’m going to fill you in and answer some popular and frequent questions that my client’s ask about MICROBLADING, and why everyone is embracing this semi-permanent procedure. Beware, you may be brow obsessed. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
IS MICROBLADING A FORM OF TATTOOING
Unlike a regular tattoo, MICROBLADING is a form of semi-permanent tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under the skin with a manual handheld tool, and not a machine. It is drawing hair-like strokes with this tool to mimic a pattern of natural hair in your brows. It is not as deep as a regular tattoo, but technically still called a tattoo because pigment is implanted under the skin.”
MICROBLADING TAKES TIME
We don’t want to rush this procedure so we always block off two hours for new clients.
PREPARE FOR THIS TREATMENT
If you drink, take aspirin, or use retinol, stop one week before your treatment. Retinol makes your skin thin and will cause you bleed a little more, and the pigment won’t absorb as well as it normally would. Please avoid blood thinners, aspirin, and alcohol before your treatments”.
Pain is relative. Like a lot of things, some of us feel pain more than others. Overall it feels like scratching. You can feel it, but it’s not unbearable. You may also have the sensation of feeling like you have to sneeze. We prep our clients brows with a topical numbing cream and top up this cream throughout the MICROBLADING process to dull any discomfort.
WHAT TO EXPECT
For the first 10-14 days, you will see that the brows are a shade darker than normal. Within a few days, the color will blend and your eye brows will look more natural. Another common question asked is –Are there any side effects? The answer is none whatsoever. Be sure to follow all of your aftercare advice.
AFTERCARE IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE HEALING PROCESS
That means protecting freshly bladed brows from all moisture–no sweaty workouts, swimming or washing your face with water. Some patients experience itching and redness during the first week, which Vaseline can alleviate. Brows will look slightly darker at first, but the color will fade 40 to 50 percent after your first appointment, and sometimes upwards of 60%. Aftercare ointments are placed over the brow area and topped with a thin coat of Vaseline for the next 7 days until they are healed. Overall they look great right away and you don’t have to hide. A slight redness and mild swelling for the first few hours is normal.
RESULTS LAST UPWARDS OF 3 YEARS
Depending on the skin and lifestyle, our clients come back for touch-ups once every year or so to keep the color precise & sharp. How long your MICROBLADED brows will last depends on your lifestyle. Do you exfoliate your face regularly? Do you have facials? Microdermabrasion? Glycolic Peeling & Tanning all make a difference and will cause the pigment to fade even more than expected.
MICROBLADING IS A GREAT INVESTMENT
The first treatment can cost upwards of $400.00-600.00. Every so often here at Beautiliscious we offer promos for a lower-price so be on the lookout for our specials.
If you are interested in MICROBLADING and are seeing someone new, take the time to talk to them about the process, look at photos and make sure you feel at ease and comfortable with your decision. It’s okay to be a little nervous but you have to feel good about “the person” who is going to create new brows on your face.
